Exposure Made Easy
2-SESSION HANDS-ON WORKSHOP
Fundamental Photography Class
LEVEL: Beginning Photographers (or those with equivalent knowledge of exposure)
(View Course Requirements)
This class is mandatory for anyone who wishes to succeed in photography. In fact, even people who claim to be experienced photographers do not have the knowledge contained in this course. This is because exposure is probably the most confusing topic in photography. It confused me, too. Trust me, I remember! But, this confusion only made me learn it better and, now, I can teach you how to do it right, from start to finish. (Gift Cards for this class are available.)
| "Thanks. I found your Exposure teaching techniques very useful; You helped me see things in a different light. I have read a half dozen books on photography, and none were able to explain the fundamentals of proper exposure like you were." |

Today's digital cameras are able to do some pretty remarkable things, but they will NEVER be able to make perfect exposures. Only YOU can do that!
This course will help you take control of your own photography. You will be taught the fundamentals of photographic exposure, how your camera works, and how to set the camera's controls to make well exposed images.
Topics include:
- Definition of "Exposure"
- ISO
- Shutter Speed
- Aperture (f-stop)
- Learn how a camera measures light
- Manual metering
- Spot metering
- Aperture Priority mode
- How to take light meter readings
- Learn to set camera for the correct exposure
Exposure compensation for tough subjects like: snow, black and white birds, white and pale flowers, etc.
- Tonality Chart ("a piece of gold"former student) - Use histogram to maximize image quality
During this hands-on course, you'll be taught how to use your own digital camera or film camera (which you bring along) to make perfect exposures. Topics to be covered include: shutter speeds, f-stops, ISO, how a light meter works, tonality and exposure compensation, how to take a light meter reading, and an overall fundamental understanding of exposure.
It is important that you have a film or digital SLR camera that has Manual Metering. This is mamdatory. Please see the Course Requirements.
After the session, you'll be ready to move onto our other photography courses.
